After a red, white, and blue kaboom at the Carlisle PA Fairgrounds celebrating the 4th of July, the grounds transitions to another type of earth-shaking thunder; the roar of some of the coolest and most historically significant Mopars ever built. The Carlisle Chrysler Nationals and its passionate flock of showgoers converge on Carlisle July 15-17 for an event that is just as much of a car show and automotive flea market as it is a family and social reunion.
The calendar may note three days for the car show and parts shopping extravaganza, but with a touch of mid-summer weather, the event becomes four days of fun with early load-ins and the annual Mopar Rebellion Car Club kick-off party at the neighboring Carlisle Expo Center on July 14.
With everyone primed for the biggest and best show of its type in the world, gates open at 7 a.m. on the 15th and from there, it’s non-stop action. Not only will there be special displays (noted below) that are guaranteed to draw a crowd, Carlisle welcomes special guests, too. These gusts include legendary racers like Paul Rossi, the Ramchargers, Golden Commandos, and Herb McCandless, while also making way for “as seen on TV” car experts.
The Carlisle Chrysler Nationals doesn’t just welcome legendary people associated with Mopar, it also celebrates the history of some iconic rides with special displays. Planned displays for 2022 include the following:
1) Mopar Collectibles Display 2) Mopars with a Family Connection
3) Plymouth Prowler 25th Display 4) 1972 Mopar 50th Anniversary Display
5) 1970 Charger 50th Anniversary Display (because 2020 was mean)
The Mopars with a Family Connection display is all-new and comes with a plethora of built-in feel-good opportunities. There is no black and white to this display either, as the grey in it allows for any and all family ties within reason. Another feature, the Mopar Collectibles Display, isn’t about the cars at all. Rather, this will be a building of Mopar-related items like bicycles, go-karts, Sno Runners, driving simulators, and more.
Something else we’re doing this year that’s totally new is the “State of the Hobby” address live at the stage. We’ve gathered some of the biggest names in the Mopar hobby from builders and restorers to business owners and collectors. The address will conclude with some incredible Mopar unveilings of all genres of the hobby.
In addition to new show elements, many great standards return, too. This includes the Mopar Survivor display, Real Street Shootout (autocross), rolling exhaust contest, largest and coolest club contests, the Young Guns Showfield (25 and under), and of course the biggest and best all-Mopar themed automotive flea market.
The Carlisle Chrysler Nationals is actively taking registrations for the Showfield, vendor registrations for the automotive flea market, and selling discounted spectator tickets in advance of the July 15-17 offering. Please note, vending space is LIMITED at this time due to demand. Learn more about the competitions, special displays, and get involved today by calling 717-243-7855 or online at CarlisleEvents.com.

One of the best parts about the Carlisle Import & Performance Nationals car show presented by eBay Motors annually is the eclectic mix of past, present, and future classics that pop up on the Showfield. This year’s event is May 13-14 at the Carlisle PA Fairgrounds and JUST announced, guests can see for the first time, a car that’s sure to be in high demand in the coming months.
As part of this year’s East Coast Z Nationals, a show within the show, guests can get their first up close look at the stylish and sleek 2023 Nissan Z. This will be THE first time that the 2023 Nissan Z is appearing at an enthusiast event in the northeast region. For a car that was officially unveiled last summer and is highly sought after by its fan base, the chance to see it in person and up close has been sparse. It’s all happening at Carlisle within Building Y and the aforementioned East Coast Z Nationals.
The Seiran Blue Nissan Z will be flanked by nearly a dozen classic and modified Zs and just outside of Building Y will be 50-100 more, plus Skylines and GTRs too. In addition to the Seiran Blue color, the 2023 Z comes with blue-trimmed interior and a manual transmission. Art imitates life, too, as a blue Nissan Z just like it adorns this year’s event t-shirts, commemorative pint glasses, decals, and more.
“I grew up with an older brother who collects, restores and races Z cars and I’ve owned and built a couple of them myself,” said event manager Ed Buczeskie. “This is huge to have the ALL-NEW 2023 Nissan Z coming to Carlisle for its first enthusiast event in the northeast.”
In addition to the 2023 Nissan Z, guests coming to the Carlisle Import & Performance Nationals can see cars and trucks from around the world, some of which they’ve never seen before. This international automotive showcase also offers a passport program with checkpoints, further encouraging guests to “travel the world,” all while getting their booklet stamped, with some prizes available at the end of their journey.
Unique displays include the Z, the BMW, 30 years of the Subaru Impreza, a French display spotlighting the collective works of Robert Opron, and more. There’s family fun, including dune buggies on display, valve cover races, on grounds parades, and track activities. Best of all, kids 12 and under are admitted FREE!

There are many great elements to experience in person as part of this year’s Carlisle GM Nationals, June 24-25 at the Carlisle PA Fairgrounds. The event that welcomes more than 1,000 show cars and trucks to the National Parts Depot Showfield also does its part to support charity, specifically the Chip Miller Amyloidosis Foundation (CMAF).
For two days at Carlisle, not only will guests enjoy a plethora of Camaros, Novas, S-10s, Buicks, Pontiacs, etc., but will also find a nice array of America’s Sports Car; the Corvette. The aforementioned Corvettes come to the Showfield as part of Corvettes for Chip, a show within the show, that benefits the CMAF.
Corvettes for Chip is hosted by the CMAF in partnership with the York County Corvette Club and offers raffles, 50/50 drawings, baked goods for sale and a chance to see some of the nicest Corvettes in the region. Fun Field registration also offers full access to the Carlisle GM Nationals for two (car owner and guest), an opportunity to be judged, a special CMAF pin and more.
As an added bonus, everyone who registers for the Corvettes for Chip Fun Field receives a FREE guided tour of the Miller Family Garage while at the event. The garage contains classic, rare, and unique rides; primarily Corvettes, but other collectible showcars too.
For those who partake in the fun that is Corvettes for Chip, it’s also a chance to enjoy all that the GM Nationals has to offer. Previously mentioned are the different types of cars and trucks that may be on-site, but specific displays include 40 Years of the 3rd Gens, 60 Years of the Nova/Chevy II, 40 Years of the S-10, plus the annual Solid Lifter Showroom in Building Y.
What is Amyloidosis? First and foremost, it’s the disease that took Chip Miller from his loved ones and the automotive world in 2004. Amyloidosis is a rare disease that develops when amyloid proteins deposit and accumulate in the body’s organs and tissue. This accumulation may happen systemically (throughout the body) or locally (in one tissue). Annually, 3,000 cases are diagnosed, but the disease is still rare enough that usually by the time it’s detected, it’s too late. This was the case for Chip and why the CMAF hosts events like Corvettes for Chip to not only raise money for those affected by the disease, but to raise awareness for it too so that others don’t lose their loved ones. Learn more at ChipMiller.org.
A car show, a Corvette showcase, parts shopping within the automotive flea market AND a charitable venture, all for one admission price and all part of the Carlisle GM Nationals. As the daffodils bloom and the smell of car care products fill the air, it’s a sure sign that springtime is upon us! It also means that Carlisle, Pennsylvania is set to become one of the biggest cities in the state for a period of time in April as part of Spring Carlisle and the Spring Carlisle Collector Car Auction. Spring Carlisle happens April 20-24 at the Carlisle PA Fairgrounds and hosts a collector car automotive flea market and car corral, while next door at the Carlisle Expo Center, Carlisle Auctions offers its spring auction, April 21-22. Both events draw car lovers from around the world!
Carlisle Auctions is excited to bring car buyers and sellers together for two days, while offering 400+ lots spanning decades of production. Bidders and buyers will feast on a variety of options, including classics deserving of a white-glove presentation, while other options include show-worthy gems that can still serve as a daily driver. Muscle, trucks, pre-war classics, and even automobilia; it’s all slated to cross the block April 21-22.
Speaking of trucks, Carlisle Auctions presents its increasingly popular all-truck hour on April 21 at 4 p.m. On this date at this time, dozens of trucks, vans, SUVs, or Jeeps will cross the auction block. Some will be offered at no reserve, assuring they will be re-homed by the end of the day.
With so many confirmed lots, it’s hard to spotlight just one, but recently confirmed for the auction is one worth mentioning. Also on April 21, just before the all-truck hour, an all-original 1965 Tiger Sunbeam Convertible will cross the block. The unrestored Sunbeam, a.k.a. “Baby Cobra,” has just 28,000 miles on it and features a set of rare original LAT 9 wheels, mounted on original UniRoyal Tiger Paw redline tires that are used only for show. These tires were put on the car in 1968 since the original owner had to have Tiger Paws on her Tiger. It also comes with a set of modern Mini-lite style wheels and tires.
There are many more gems like this ’65 Tiger Sunbeam and all will be available for bidding in person, on the phone or online as part of the auction. Advanced/online bidding starts April 18 and every registered bidder is eligible to not only bring a guest to the auction, but to attend Spring Carlisle as well.
Complete details on the auction are available at CarlisleAuctions.com. Consignments are being added daily to the Carlisle Auctions web page. Spectator admission is $12. Just after Memorial Day, THE Ford show of shows happens; the Carlisle Ford Nationals presented by Meguiar’s (June 3-5). This event hosts Ford lovers from across the country and more than 3,200 vehicles on the National Parts Depot Showfield. While there is no shortage of cars and people, another element of the fun are the displays, special themes, and guests.
Participants helped set a new Showfield record in 2021, as the Carlisle PA Fairgrounds came to life powered by 3,240 registered vehicles. With 2022’s plans coming into focus and the return of Canadian car enthusiasts, 3,300 registrations is a real possibility, as is the chance to break the all-time record for showcars at Carlisle which was set in 2003. That number, 3,298, was powered by a hungry group of young enthusiasts as part of the former Custom Compact Nationals.
But…what draws Ford lovers to Carlisle every June? There are various reasons why, but for the most part, the eclectic mix of vehicles, displays, and industry guests offer Ford lovers something unique at Carlisle that spotlights the Blue Oval family of brands; new and old. In fact, with some indoor auto events not happening during the first quarter of 2022, this year’s event may be the first opportunity guests have to see rides of any type, be they tried and true classics, or the latest production options from Ford.
Ford corporate returns in 2022 and with them comes a variety of walk-arounds, including ones focused on the Ice White Mach 1, Ice White Mach-E, Shelby GT500, Raptor, and something yet to be announced. Ford will also have a display dedicated to the electrification revolution showcasing not only the Mach-E but also the Shelby Mach-E GT. Shelby American is getting in the mix too, with a special Friday unveiling. More details will be available soon, but it’ll be a “can’t miss” opportunity for showgoers.
The Carlisle Ford Nationals also celebrate the history of the brand with special displays and guests. Planned displays for 2022 include the following:
Finally, the cars hit the streets of downtown Carlisle on Saturday night for the annual Ford Parade and Street Party. Historically, nearly 400 cars from the show itself roll into town for the community to check out. Restaurants offer a mix of dining options for everyone, while shops stay open later with the hopes of some added business from the out of town guests.
Further, these Fords don’t just park and shine, they rev and roll too! There are multiple activities that put the wheels in motion including a rolling exhaust contest, autocross ride-alongs, and the Real Street Shootout (autocross).
The Carlisle Ford Nationals is actively taking registrations for the Showfield, vendor registrations for the automotive flea market, and selling discounted spectator tickets in advance of the June 3-5 offering. Learn more about the competitions, special displays, and get involved today by calling 717-243-7855 or online at CarlisleEvents.com.
